today's other readings are Psalm 40 and Lk. 12: 35-38
Jesus has many titles, such as the Prince of Peace, the Lamb of God, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Good Shepherd, Saviour, and of course, the Christ (the Anointed One).
In our first reading today, we learn the background of another title of His - the new Adam.
Throughout this reading we have comparisons between the results of the actions of Adam and the results of the actions of Jesus. And as significant and devastating were the results of the actions of Adam, how much greater and glorious are the results of the actions of Jesus, particularly in His saving Passion, Death, and Resurrection. For in the end, what Jesus has accomplished, as indicated by the chart above, extends to us so much, including the possiblity of eternal life.
Which is another reason for us to exclaim, "Praise Jesus!"
