At 5:02 pm on Wednesday the 7th we received the following news from the Archdiocese of Toronto:
This afternoon, the Province of Ontario announced a “Stay-At-Home Order” to take effect throughout the province as of Thursday, April 8 for a period of one month.
The announcement does not change current restrictions for places of worship. All regions of the Archdiocese of Toronto should continue with the following guidelines:
Attendance is limited to 15% capacity of the worship space (including those assisting – priest, cantor, etc.) for sacramental celebrations, with the exception of funerals (see below). Physical distancing must be observed at all times.
Funerals are limited to 50 people (including those assisting but not including funeral home staff) per direction from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO). Parishes should liaise with funeral homes prior to making arrangements with families for additional clarity.
Parish halls should not be used for overflow or multiple celebrations at this time.
With this news, we will continue with our regular weekday and weekend mass schedule. For weekend masses, please continue to use the Eventbrite registration - see Nativity of Our Lord (myparish.org) for more information.
God bless all of you!
Peace and prayers, Fr. Michael Machacek
